Sandra Flattery

Welcome to my website. I have had a camera in my hand since childhood and am always thrilled to capture "the moment": an early morning sunrise, a magical light sunset, a lion yawning or the Costa Rican Quetzal birds building their nest. Portraits are my special pleasure.

I graduated from Castilleja School in Palo Alto, California and received my BA at the University of California, Berkeley with a double major in Art History and Art. I received a Teaching Credential from San Jose State University in California. I attended graduate school at the National Ecole des Beaux Artes in Paris, France with a Diplome d'Anne in Painting.

My husband and I have 4 children and 7 grandchildren. We have 2 Peruvian Paso horses and a Vizsla dog.

I have been a teacher, interior designer, landscape designer and a residential real estate agent. I designed needlepoint canvases, did graphic design for newsletters and all matter of art related projects. I have traveled extensively, always with a camera at my eye and attention to composition.
I came to photography in a studied manner after my husband and I retired to Sun Valley, Idaho to enjoy our mountain passions of skiing, horseback riding, hiking and partaking of the art and music scene. I began taking photography workshops in Sun Valley and at the Santa Fe Photography Institute. I love learning new techniques and points of view and am a founding member of the Sun Valley Photography Club. We meet monthly and shoot to different topics, organize field trips and host visiting teaching photographers.

I have exhibited in several photography shows and am now selling my work.
Please contact me if you are interested in purchasing any of my images. Photos can be printed on all matter of paper, metal and canvas. Prices vary according to size, typically $50-$1000. I am happy to discuss options and prices with you.
